Palace of Fine Arts - Colonnades
Architect Bernard Maybeck designed the palace to reflect the architecture of ancient Rome. Though he planned the structure to last only one year for the Panama-Pacific Exhibition, San Franciscans have continued to restore and improve the structure so that today's visitors can still walk among its impressive colonnades.
